At the recent Kent 2020 Vision business conference, I was able to launch the new “Kent Contemporary” tourism campaign alongside Nick Hewer, Alan Sugar’s right hand man on TV’s ‘The Apprentice’. Featuring stunning visuals by leading photographer Jean-Luc Benard, the campaign hopes to present the county of Kent in a totally new and modern light, using the M&C Saatchi “SURT” formula – a Simple, Universally Recognised Truth.
In this case, the SURT is that everyone loves their garden; Kent is the Garden of England; so spend time in your Garden. The visuals are stunning, and will start to appear at poster sites in London in two to three weeks. In July, we’ll also be launching the “Faces and Places” campaign, by which I hope that the people who live, work and visit Kent will start to tell us what’s so special to them about the county – where are your secret little corners? Who are your favourite characters of Kent?
