I see from today’s newspapers that Conrad Murray, the doctor who attended to Michael Jackson, has tonight been charged by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office in connection with the singer’s death.
It’s an interesting dilemma – one hears about celebrities being ‘attended to’ by doctors who seem simply to pander to their every need.
And who’s to say where the dividing line comes between genuine prescription for all the right reasons, and simply ‘keeping the patient happy’ to avoid losing their doubtless lucrative custom?
Of course, I’m not suggesting anything either way but equally if it transpires that it was the latter rather than the former, I’m sure it won’t be the first time.
Time will tell.
