On Monday morning I made my way to Sherwood Park Primary School, where I met up with my County Councillor colleague Leyland Ridings or the KCC Education Cabinet team. We were there to meet some of the pupils at the Breakfast Club, where to mark Kentish Food Week (28th September – 2nd October) the menu this morning included Kent-reared pork sausages with onions; Appledore Chicken Pie and Oast Quiche.
Sherwood are one of 330 primary school participating in Kentish Food Week through their school meals contractors, and with such a wealth of local produce available across the Garden of England, it’s an ideal opportunity to try new things.
Don’t forget also the Produced in Kent website, which will give you details of local products, producers, farmers’ markets and a whole range of great events. To access the Produced in Kent website, click the link here.
