Last week I heard two Kent business people praising the KEIBA’s – the Kent Excellence in Business Wards. It reminded me that I hadn’t actually posted anything about them! The inaugural KEIBA event took place on the evening of 2nd July in the beautiful setting grounds of Leeds Castle in Kent. They are intended to showcase Kent businesses in all their glory, proving that – even in a recession – Kent is open for business.
I opened the evening jointly with Geraldine Allinson, Chairman of the Kent Messenger Group before an audience of over five hundred enjoyed Kent food and drink in a superb marquee setting. During the evening awards were presented in eleven categories, ranging from Young Entrepreneur of the Year to Best Start Up Business of The Year.
The evening was magical – there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout. I’ve since heard that one of the sponsors has said the event “not just met, but far exceeded” their expectations, and that they will definitely be sponsoring these awards again. In October this year the KEIBA nominations process will start again, so why not nominate your own business or one you know?
