A shred of evidence

I don’t know whether you watched “Question Time” on BBC1 tonight, but during the panel debate about MPs’ expenses and the process of “redacting” (whatever that is).

Whilst the House of Commons have released online all MPs’ expense claims, for “security reasons” they have blacked out many of the details which could have given clues to any abuse of the system.

However, I was fascinated to hear David Dimbleby state that not only had ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair apparently asked for all of his expense sheets to be shredded.  Mr Dimbleby tells us he actually charged the taxpayer for having this done.

Astonishing.
