Examine the safety of our roads now

At 12.35, a woman was killed in a fatal road traffic accident on the A21 just past the roundabout leading to the North Farm Industrial Estate.  The matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as her car was hit by an unmarked car driven by an on duty Metropolitan Police officer.

Whilst there was probably nothing which could have been done to save this poor woman, with a fatality just a week or two ago on Colts Hill isn’t it time to examine the capacity and safety of the roads in and around our Borough?

And isn’t it only right for Colts Hill – the main access road between our two main hospitals at Maidstone and Pembury – to finally get its bypass so that when tragedies like this happen, the emergency services can at least get to the scene without delay?
