Kent People at High Brooms Station

It seemed no sooner had I turned off my laptop and gone to bed for the night – 1am, than it was time to get up again – 4.30am! I was due to pick up some colleagues and walk down to High Brooms Station in Tunbridge Wells, to hand out copies of “Kent People” – a newspaper printed and published by the Conservative Group at KCC.

Other than the odd commuter who snarled when offered a free newspaper, we handed out hundreds of copies between 6am, when the first train came through, and 8.15am when I left to drive to County Hall.  What amazed me was that before we left we checked the platform, expecting to find hundreds of copies blowing onto the tracks, but there were just five copies on one of the benches!

In all, a big success, and something we will definitely repeat when the next issue is produced.
