Out in Sherwood again yesterday, speaking to residents about the issues which affect them. It was really gratifying to speak to so many old friends on the doorsteps, many of whom knew about my efforts both on the TN2 Community Centre, and on repairing Greggs Wood Road and, alongside Greg Clark MP, persuading Arriva to bring three new buses onto the 277 route.
I was also surprised at how many local people were angered by a recent Lib Dem leaflet which decried local roads as being “Third World” and “Third Rate”. Apparently this leaflet has gone out in three wards – Sherwood, St James’ and Pembury, and has picked roads in all three areas to shame in this way.
Don’t quite know what the intention was – but it wasn’t very bright as local residents are furious.
