Every Picture Tells A Story

We’ve done it!  At 9am on Monday morning, Father Ed Tomlinson, myself and a crowd of local mums, dads and children from the BarnaBus pre-school came together to welcome the workmen whose job it was to demolish the Quarry Road toilets.

Derelict for what seemed like an eternity, the toilet block has obscured grafitti artists and blocked the view of the beautiful and imposing St Barnabas Church.  Excuse followed excuse and the block became a dumping ground for household rubbish.

But because Father Ed, myself and local residents worked together to lobby, to chase and to protest, they’re finally being knocked down.  Let’s use this event as a shot in the arm for the local community; as proof positive that if we shout loud enough and don’t give up, we really can change St James’ for the better.
