Silent Discos – you learn something every day

They say you learn something every day – I certainly did yesterday.  I was talking to Gill Tee of Entertee, organisers of the Party In The Park and Neil Young events at the Hop Farm at Beltring, when she asked me if I knew what a ‘Silent Disco’ was.

Rather embarrassed at this obvious dent in my street cred, I had to admit that I didn’t.  She explained – when the live music ends but the audience want to carry on enjoying themselves, they simply put on wireless headphones and the DJ keeps playing.  On the other hand, a “flash mob” silent disco is where the audience each play their own music using mp3 players and walkmans.

So now you know.  And so do I!
