Since last week’s Business Breakfast at which the Leader and I launched KCC’s “Backing Kent Business” campaign, I’ve been inundated with letters and emails from business people across the county, voicing their strong support for our initiative.
Many have suggested ways in which we could further ensure that, even at times of recession, we can keep the county economy moving, ensuring ‘Kent Jobs for Kent People’ and raising the profile of our business community.
But I’m particularly proud of KEiBA – the Kent Excellence in Business Awards. Devised by Kent County Council and the KM Group, KEiBA is now inviting award nominations throughout its sixteen categories. The closing date for entries is March 2009, and awards will be presented at Leeds Castle during a black tie dinner in July next year.
Sponsors include the Institute of Directors, Kent Adult Social Services, the Kent Film Office, Headley Brothers, SouthEastern, Heart, Mainstream, Royal Mail, Deloitte, the Kent Foundation and Visit Kent.
It’s a great opportunity to put Kent business on the map – if you’d like to nominate a Kent business, visit our website at www.keiba.co.uk now!
